Most G plan sofa have very classic shape or it could be look like too old style. It may be because the high back. This sofa is designed lower back than original G plan high back style. Also, based on primary research many customer answered that they sometimes lying on the sofa when they are watching a TV or reading a book, that is why the armrest is more focusing on people can rest on that side.

Target consumer
Modern Families who: use their sitting room for a variety of purposes – TV viewing, socialising, family time, multi screening, eating and sleeping.The design should suit both supportive needs of 45-60s parents, and slouching needs of teenagers/tweens.
In many of sofa market they sell mod-ern sofa then only focusing on the sofa comfort. However, most G plan sofa’s back rest are too high and tar-get to old generation. If G plan want to make wide range of customer I suggest to change modern.
I tried to design focusing on armrest part. Based on my primary research customers want to buy for lying on the sofa. However, the first proto-type looked different with CAD model because I use a leather. Through this process I’ve changed to fabric.
